I’ve experienced a rollercoaster ride of emotions during the start of my career a few years ago. Sometimes I question if this is what I should really do, which is just right since questioning things sometimes keeps you on your toes. Although when I’m just [...]
Red Horse Beer Radio Tour

A couple of weeks ago, I went on a radio tour with Red Horse Beer endorsers Francis Brew, Marc Abaya of KJWAN, Kevin Roy and Brian Velasco of Razorback and Lovi Poe.
We went to 5 different radio stations to promote this year’s Muziklaban and to also talk about why we like beer (something we really don’t get to talk about during unsober moments).

One of the questions was directed at Marc Abaya, he was asked what it’s like for KJWAN being one of the longest-running endorsers of Red Horse Beer. What I liked about what he said and what makes me so proud to be part of this family is that even when there was nothing happening with KJWAN, as with all bands having their quiet moments (songwriting, recording, hiatus or whatever soul-searching inspirational methods an artist does to feed their creativity), Red Horse was constantly there to support them.
The mark of true patrons of art is their understanding of the temperaments of an artist. All we need is enough support in order for us to create great art. Sometimes they even give us suggestions on what to do and create venues and opportunities for us to showcase it. Apart from music, they’ve supported Tattoo Artists, Extreme Sports, Film and now Photography. Recently they started promoting and giving away Mayonnaise’s new single, “Kapag Lasing Malambing” on their website.
What I’ve learned when I started is that when you like a particular product, you decide if it’s a product you’re going to stick to, like any ‘tried and tested’ brand. San Miguel Brewery is known to have always given an environment to create loyalty among their employees. This principle trickles down to the consumers, of being able to give something that deserves to be repeatedly asked for. Giving a whole new dimension to creator and consumer, a relationship that can be compared to patron and artist.
Red Horse Beer is the number on extra-strong beer on the market. It is undeniably strong at 6.9% alcohol content. If that’s not enough of a mark of a great product, it has been a consistent Monde Award from 2007-2012, with this year being given the most honorable Gold Award. The Monde Selection is the most sought after award for quality food and beverages. Based in Brussels, its mission is to set a standard for the best product in the world. San Miguel Brewery has won awards for their products for many years now, including Red Horse Beer
During the radio tour, everyone agreed that nothing beats ice-cold beer, and Red Horse has a distinct malt-flavor that best drunk straight from the can or the bottle. According to them, Mixing it with ice is sacrilege, and as I’ve mentioned before in my last post describing why I like beer, when one wants to have steady night with friends, you don’t want to think about going through the motion of fixing yourself one… and even if there is a bartender to mix you a drink, you don’t have to think about telling them to put in the right amount.

Francis said the best thing about being with Red Horse is the access to beer since he drinks a healthy dose every day.

Lovi Poe, being really nice and shy in person surprised everyone by saying she hides a coleman (I haven’t heard of this in a while) of Red Horse Beer at shoots and drinks before a raunchy shoot where she has to be in a bikini or lingerie just to gain a bit of confidence.

Kevin Roy and Brian Velasco don’t even need to explain themselves, being known to be the Red Horse Beer band that can hold the most amount of beer in their system. When they first signed, Razorback said they should already be a stockholder since their choice of beer all these years has always been Red Horse.

Speaking of confidence Marc Abaya demonstrates how a friend approaches a girl when drunk
Marc Abaya mentioned that hard drinks can be too much and will leave you with an unsavory hangover.

There’s never a dull moment being in the company of musicians and even better if you’ve shared silly drunken stories with them at parties. If you’re in a band and you want to be part of the Red Horse Beer family, this year’s Muziklaban tour is your chance to join. With 1 Million Pesos worth of prizes for the grand champion, it’s sure enough a reason why a lot of people want to quit their jobs and just play in a band. It gives you a chance to drink with your Red Horse Beer bands too, backstage (not kidding).
