Fifteen years ago, the very first Dutdutan was held in a bar in Malate organized by tattoo artist Ricky Sta. Ana. That evening the only performers were Greyhoundz and Queso. During his closing remarks, Ricky Sta. Ana said that Greyhoundz and Queso helped build Dutdutan. It has been more than 5 years since their last performance in this Tattoo Convention that it was quite fitting for the two bands closed the event’s 15th year.
The venue experienced technical difficulties as the airconditioning of the whole venue broke, but people still stayed until the very end, despite the delays and the intense heat and waited until the very last song of Greyhoundz which ended at 4am.
Ian appeared for a brief moment during Greyhoundz’ set while B-Boy Garcia remained on stage after Queso’s performance to jam with Greyhoundz. “Wag ka nalang umalis B-Boy mag jam ka nalang”, Reg announced on the microphone as Queso was packing up.
A cool trivia not everyone knew about that when Greyhoundz was starting out B-Boy was actually a member for a brief moment, which leads us to the story of his tattoo. He said that Queso is spelled QUEZO with a “Z” because it’s an homage to Greyhoundz.
Pretty cool, right?
